Nancy is passionate about supporting students, teachers, schools, and education.
School Partnerships LLC was founded in 2009 by Nancy as a way to raise additional funding for public schools, while at the same time, help businesses increase exposure to school employees, students and parents through in-school advertising. In 2011, School Partnerships was selected to solicit and manage advertising contracts for the Volusia County School District. In 2012, School Partnerships expanded into the Flagler Public School District. And in February 2014, the Seminole County Public School District awarded School Partnerships a contract to manage the advertising program for Seminole Schools.
Nancy graduated with honors from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree. She worked for General Electric for 13 years and was in their Management Training Program. She was exposed to all facets of business as she worked her way up the management chain – manufacturing, quality assurance, business development, strategic planning, finance, and program management, with a strong concentration on sales and marketing. Nancy was fortunate enough to be trained biannually at the world renowned GE Management College in Crotonville, NY.
She spent the last 17 years working within the Volusia County School System in many leadership positions. She was Chair of Citizens for Excellent Schools where she led the successful 2001 campaign to increase the sales tax by a half-penny to improve and build new schools throughout Volusia County. In 2014, Nancy was instrumental in the passage of the half-cent extension. These initiatives are expected to raise about $800 Million for Volusia County Schools over 30 years.
Nancy’s passion and commitment to improving and enriching the community is evident in her involvement in other area organizations. She served as Chair of the Ormond Beach Chamber Education Committee for 3 years where she led a dynamic group of business leaders who implemented innovative programs for students including Day of Technology, Arrive Alive, Recycle For Reading, One Book One Community, and Teacher of the Quarter.
She attended the Daytona Leadership Class and was very active on many committees and advocacy groups in the community. For example, she chaired the Superintendent’s Ad Hoc Community Cadre where she led the efforts of a group of prominent business leaders and raised funds to save JV Sports and Academic & Performing Arts events, which were scheduled to be cut due to the severe budget crisis.
Nancy is currently serving as the Public Service Chair of the American Advertising Federation – Daytona Beach. Nancy is also a member of many chambers including the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce, Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce, Orlando Chamber of Commerce and the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy is enthusiastic about increasing funding for our public schools through this innovative “advertising in schools” concept which will mutually benefit both students and businesses through a win-win partnership for all involved parties.
